deeper than words

writing these thoughts
as they come to the surface.
bobbing in the water,
slowing long enough
to catch my breath.
unfolding much more,
as I wrestle with the now.
a journey to lighten the load
by seeking levity within the metaphors,
making light what once felt so burdensome.
